A Flower Summer Camp for ages 7–11

Discover the groovy life of flowers through hands-on activities, creative crafts, and beginner flower arranging at Bloomin’ Disco. Designed for curious and creative kids ages 7–11, this one-week day camp blends floral design and nature science with art to spark imagination and build confidence in their creative abilities.

What campers will do

  • Learn the life cycle of a flower: seeds, germination, growth, pollination, and seed dispersal — with experiments and observation journals.

  • Explore flower anatomy: petals, stamens, pistils, stems, and roots through magnified observations and interactive models.

  • Practice basic flower arranging: simple techniques for balance, color harmony, and focal points using fresh and dried flowers appropriate for young hands.

  • Create flower crafts that they are able to create and take home. There will be a 2D flower market that they can select paper blooms from daily and create arrangements with.

  • Garden time: plant a small pot or seed packet to start at camp and continue growing at home.

  • Sensory and mindfulness activities: scent-sorting, texture stations, and guided “flower breathing” to encourage calm and focus.

  • Mini floral challenges and group projects: team arrangements, seasonal displays, and a final show-and-share for family and friends at our Bloomin’ Disco Party on Friday the 31st at 11:30 PM.

  • Morning 2D Flower Market and theme introduction

  • Hands-on lesson or experiment

  • Snack and indoor recess break

  • Flower arranging practice or craft

  • Indoor Garden time and reflection through plants and projected images

  • Wrap-up and take-home project

Safety and inclusivity

  • Materials and activities are age-appropriate and supervised by trained instructors.

  • Allergen-aware: we screen for common floral allergies and offer alternatives.

  • Accessible activities to accommodate different abilities and learning styles.

What to bring / wear

  • Wear comfortable clothes that can get a little dirty

  • A snack, lunch + water bottle daily

By the end of camp, campers will:

  • Understand the basic biology of flowers and pollination

  • Be able to create simple, attractive floral arrangements

  • Have a portfolio of crafts and a planted seed to continue learning

  • Gain appreciation for nature, teamwork, and creative expression
